    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    The corporate Clinical Education Operations Supervisor is responsible for organization, directing, and implementing an infrastructure for a standardized systems approach to the corporate Clinical Education Service Line. The Corporate Education Operations Supervisor performs various management functions, including data entry, routine database maintenance, and standard report generation, verification, and distribution, as well as support activities related to classroom coordination, registration oversight, documentation of participation, scheduling, and procurement of teaching materials. The Corporate Clinical Education Operations Supervisor also serves as the Learning Management System Administrator (e.g. HealthStream and JANE).

    Major Responsibilities:

    + Helps created superior clinical identity by supporting the clinical education team in operationalizing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensures adherence to standards of care.

    + Supports the achievement of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations and designations.

    + Ensures policies, procedures, and practices are in compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.

    + Serves as the Learning Management System (e.g. HealthStream & Jane) lead administrator for the clinical education team, including building courses / classes, maintaining student groups, entering data, and providing reports as needed.

    + Provides timely, accurate, and professional support to the clinical education team.

    + Utilizes computers, computer systems, and audio/visual equipment effectively. Demonstrates familiarity with medical terminology.

    + Fosters a Service Excellence culture.

    + Assumes responsibility for promoting consistent, positive patient interactives that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.

    + Supports the clinical education team to inspire pride in HCA Healthcare and organizational outcomes by contributing to the development of a superior clinical education program and culture of excellence.

    + Provides support to educators, participants, education, and operational leadership.

    + Supports the corporate clinical education service in building a competively superior organization through attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent.

    + Inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization. Implements evidence-based employee engagement practices.

    + Participates in interviews, selection, training, and evaluation of staff to ensure a competitively superior organization

    + Participates and supports the strategic planning and business development process by providing various reports as requested. Provides input on strategies to ensure smooth operation of clinical education.

    + Represents the organization positively within the community; participates in company-supported community patient events and in-services.

    + Manages department performance in accordance with established budget, including the utilization of staffing supplies, and equipment. Identifies cost reduction opportunities to achieve savings.

    + Provide requested data to assist in completing monthly operations; provides information on variances to the corporate clinical leadership team.

    + Participates in the annual budget process, providing input into assigned expense forecasts, staffing, and supply and equipment needs.

    + Monitors department performance in accordance with established budget, including identifying variances and assisting the team with developing action plans to reduce these variances

    + Manages department performance in accordance with established budget, including the utilization of staffing, supplies, and equipment. Identifies cost reduction opportunities to achieve savings.

    + Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.

    + 3+ years’ experience in healthcare, education, business or finance, required.

    + Ability to travel up to 25%, required.

    + Experience with Learning Management System (e.g. HealthStream), preferred.
