SUMMARY

The Field Technician is responsible for demonstrating exceptional customer service while conducting mechanical repairs and/or servicing internal and external customers' equipment. The position is primarily responsible for traveling to customer sites, representing the company's values, and ensuring that their equipment is serviced to the standards of Southwest ToyotaLift.

Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs and at the discretion of management.

+ Ability to professionally communicate with customers both in-house and in the field, and build strong relationships.

+ The capability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and write clear job recommendations and descriptions.

+ Demonstrate knowledge of parts and the ability to determine if parts need to be replaced or repaired.

+ Repair gasoline, LPG, electric, or diesel-powered forklifts

+ Make repairs as needed, including replacing worn or broken parts, adjusting brakes, tightening body bolts, and aligning wheels, among other necessary tasks.

+ Lubricate the vehicle and perform other duties related to the maintenance and operation of the lift truck as required.

+ Perform manual labor tasks, including heavy lifting and operating power equipment.

+ Communicate effectively with supervisors and escalate issues as needed.

+ Complete paperwork, as required, to open work orders / close work orders accurately and promptly to ensure appropriate processing and billing.

+ Keep the van or truck clean and report any vehicle problems to your supervisor.

+ Practice safe work habits

Qualifications

Qualifications

+ High school graduate

+ Three to five years forklift/material handling technician experience

+ Excellent driving record (as shown on current DMV report)

+ Ability to drive company vehicle to customer sites.

+ Ability to communicate clearly verbally and written

+ Customer service attitude and aptitude

+ Expected to attend technical classes when offered by management

+ Appearance must be neat and professional

Physical Requirements

+ Must be physically able to repetitively stoop, bend, push, pull, squat, climb, and kneel regularly

+ Must be able to operate power machinery physically, use hand tools, use air compressor tools, band saw, department grinder, steam cleaner, and parts washer machines.

+ Must be able to lift 50 pounds unaided physically.

+ Must be physically able to operate/drive a company vehicle.
