Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Supervisor for Cable Operations and/or Warehouse Operations will oversee day-to-day activities within production and/or warehouse environments, with supervisory responsibility for 30-70 hourly associates and 2-4 operations coordinators. This role is part of the HCP Leadership Team and reports directly to Operations leadership. The position offers growth opportunities into various functions such as Facilities, Engineering, Supply Chain, Technology, and Division Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
Safety and Compliance:
+ Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and maintain a safe work environment.
+ Take accountability for personal safety and the safety of others within the facility, including visitors and contractors.
+ Observe and enforce safe work practices, and proactively report unsafe conditions.
Operations Management:
+ Develop and implement activities in production and/or warehouse areas to achieve or exceed production goals, quality standards, and cost objectives.
+ Prioritize production schedules based on product induction, equipment efficiency, and materials availability.
+ Adjust staffing and machine assignments to optimize workflow and efficiency.
+ Achieve and maintain world-class housekeeping and product flow standards.
Employee Development:
+ Train, coach, and develop employees to take accountability for individual and team performance.
+ Foster a challenging, meaningful work environment that recognizes and rewards high performance.
+ Promote open and honest communication across teams and encourage employee involvement in business initiatives.
+ Develop and manage training plans to ensure employees receive appropriate job-related education and skills enhancement.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
+ Lead, coach, and participate in teams to accomplish individual, departmental, and divisional objectives such as quality improvements, cost optimization, inventory management, production targets, equipment utilization, and on-time shipments.
+ Collaborate on Lean projects to introduce new products or processes and drive continuous improvement across plant operations.
Project Management and Continuous Improvement
+ Lead initiatives impacting staffing levels or optimizing distribution flow.
+ Support Lean project teams to develop and implement new products or processes.
+ Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance overall plant operations.
+ Utilize capacity models to develop staffing and production plans, and identify bottlenecks to optimize resource allocation.
+ Develop and document procedure revisions and implement process improvements to maintain ISO standards.
+ Investigate and implement corrective actions to address inefficiencies and reduce process variations.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree.
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
+ Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
+ Proficiency in computer skills, including basic knowledge of Excel (formulas) and Word.
+ Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or Supply Chain Management.
+ Proven problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
+ Experience with SAP systems.

The range for this position is $75,761.00 - $104,172.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
