Our team owns Marketing for all of Amazon Health Services (AHS) along with all of the data that powers our optimization and valuation services. This role requires you to live at the cross section of data, engineering, and the AHS business. You have a deep understanding of data, analytical techniques, and how to connect insights to the business, and you have practical experience in insisting on highest standards on operations in ETL and big data pipelines. Your responsibilities include big data design and analysis, data modeling, and development, deployment, and operations of big data pipelines. You will work closely with the software development engineering teams around AHS to fundamentally redesign the AHS Marketing infrastructure. You will lead our efforts in the context of the broader Health Care policies, which dictate how data is to be stored and accessed. You will also have the opportunity to engage with analytic teams across AHS to build the data architecture and data sets. You will raise the bar for our engineers to better understand the data flows, infrastructure options, and innovate with them where the options do not meet our needs. You will be part of a broader cross-functional AHS Marketing Analytics team and problem solve together how we can improve how data unlocks value for customers.
We are looking for candidates that have strong computer science credentials, are customer-obsessed and have a track record of building quality solutions. You intrinsically use technology to solve problems, excel in data analysis and can succinctly and accurately report your findings. You will contribute to all aspects of our system’s design, development, documentation, testing and operations. You will improve our data pipelines and mine new sources of data to make our system better. For this brand new initiate with highly-motivated engineers, you will help deliver robust data, feature sets, intuitive designs and user interfaces that will deliver a Mobile Analytics Platform at Amazon scale.

1. Own the AHS Marketing data architecture (design, implement, and maintain)
2. Define and build the foundational data sets required, and associated data infrastructure, to meet the business goals (tracking, attribution, valuation)
3. Lead GenAI initiatives orchestrating data platforms and automation frameworks to transform enterprise data ecosystems and deliver actionable insights at scale.
3. Establish key relationships which span Amazon AHS business units and Business Intelligence teams
4. Implement standardized, automated operational and quality control processes to deliver accurate and timely data to meet and improve SLA reporting needs

About the team
AHS Central Marketing owns driving new customers to all Amazon Health businesses including OneMedical, Amazon Clinic, Amazon Pharmacy and Health benefits connector. We look to automate optimization for each channel and are constantly looking for scale. We are heavily data driven and Customer Obsessed and are excited to partner with Data Engineering leaders to unlock customer behavioral signals to best serve our customers. Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience as a data engineer or related specialty (e.g., software engineer, business intelligence engineer, data scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently
- Leveraging GenAI to accelerate development of data platforms and automation frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
