    ISP Financial Specialist Senior

     

    The Idaho State Police (ISP) has a current opening for a Financial Specialist Senior in Meridian. This position will perform a full range of advanced professional financial duties requiring the application of accounting and/or auditing theory, principles, and practices.

     

    PLEASE NOTE: The successful applicant will be required to complete a background investigation and polygraph examination. Please review the ISP Drug Policy and ISP Grooming and Appearance Standards at www.isp.idaho.gov

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Independently manage, control, and monitor a wide range of diverse, advanced financial functions as a lead financial professional

    • Develop and roll out training plans and correspondence to ISP districts for P-Cards, Travel, Procurement, Luma, Etc.

    • Monitor LUMA changes and communicate changes and upcoming updates to the agency.

    • Knowledge of budgets, accounting systems, prepare complex financial documents, plan and review financial operations, and handle difficult or sensitive financial matters

    • Prepare and explain documents of findings and conclusions concerning the policies, procedures, operational methods, and financial position of the agency

    • Modify, and implement financial-related systems or have a significant role in their development

    •Update and Develop processes and procedures.

    • Participate in developing policies and procedures for financial reporting systems and conduct research into the financial needs of the agency

    • Apply strong background in information technology to analyze, research, and maintain financial data, develop financial documents, and resolve problems

    • Analyze technical financial problems and provide professional assistance and advice concerning their solutions

    • Manage a SharePoint page

    • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Good knowledge of:

    • Accounting principles and practices

    Experience:

    • Developing and preparing financial documents

    • Using a computer to develop, analyze, and report on financial data

    • Analyzing financial activities and recommending management action

    • Training and preparing SOPs to be published

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience using statewide Luma system

    • Knowledge of state budget processes

    • Good knowledge of supervisory practices

    • Public Speaking

    • SharePoint

    • Creating training videos
