Tooling Engineer / Mechanical Engineer
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop new jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support production and quality inspection processes.
• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify fixture improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
• Prepare detailed 2D/3D CAD models, drawings, and documentation for fixture fabrication.
• Coordinate with machine shops, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate fixture build and implementation.
• Conduct validation and verification of fixtures to confirm dimensional accuracy and functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fixture-related issues during production runs.
• Maintain accurate records of fixture designs, revisions, and usage.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and error-proofing (poka-yoke) techniques.
• Ensure compliance with safety, ergonomic, and quality standards in fixture design.
• Provide training and technical support to production teams regarding fixture operation and maintenance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Engineering Degree and 1+ years of professional experience
3D Design in NX, Solidworks, CREO, or other CAD software
Tooling design experience
GD&T experience
CNC/CMM machining knowledge
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
