Environmental Scientist (Field-Based | NYC)
Join a collaborative environmental team supporting major agency projects across New York City.
We’re hiring an Environmental Scientist with 2+ years of experience in field investigations, environmental sampling, and inspections. This is a field-based role ideal for early-career professionals looking to grow under experienced senior staff while contributing to high-impact environmental work across the five boroughs.
About the Role
You’ll support site investigations, sampling, and inspections for NYC agency projects. Under the guidance of senior scientists, you’ll assist in fieldwork, data evaluation, and report preparation while tracking regulatory deadlines and contributing to project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
+ Conduct field investigations, sampling, and inspections
+ Assist in preparing project planning documents and technical reports
+ Support data evaluation and documentation
+ Work independently and as part of a project team
+ Track and meet contractual and regulatory deadlines
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
+ 2+ years of experience in environmental fieldwork
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
+ 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification required and NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector License OR EPA Risk Assessor License is required
+ Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
