    Job Title: Project Manager 2 (Engineering)Job Description

     

    Join the Transmission Project Management organization as a Project Manager 2 (Engineering) to facilitate infrastructure projects from inception to completion. You will play a key role in supporting capital project execution across Transmission Services, participating in service planning, facility siting, and managing the design/build process.

    Responsibilities

    + Support and facilitate multiple projects from start to finish in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

    + Provide expert guidance on PMI-based project management methodology and best practices.

    + Engage with the business to understand needs, identify dependencies, expectations, and milestones.

    + Request necessary subject matter experts and forecast appropriate project resources.

    + Collaborate with business units to resolve resource allocation issues.

    + Facilitate kick-off meetings and validate project plans and resource commitments.

    + Schedule and lead project team meetings and coordinate activities of sub-teams.

    + Draft project plans, resource strategies, and funding estimates.

    + Monitor project budgets and obtain authorization for any changes in cost, schedule, or performance.

    + Organize and coordinate project teams, serving as a liaison between business and technical aspects.

    + Track project progress and provide corrective action recommendations.

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve conflicting priorities and requirements.

    + Draft final project reports, including lessons learned, and maintain compliance with information security standards.

    + Facilitate project transitions to new project managers as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, Organizational Development, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

    + 5 years of experience with a relevant Bachelor's degree, 7 years without a Bachelor's degree, or 10 years without a degree.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, MS Office Suite, and Microsoft Project.

    + Experience in project coordination/management, including process development and execution.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + PMI or PMP certification.

    + Proficiency with ArcMap or similar GIS program.

    + Experience with electric utility industry data.

    + Knowledge of the electrical substation environment and life-cycle management.

    Work Environment

    Work in a slower-paced office environment with somewhat flexible hours and business casual attire. Collaborate in a self-directed project management team supported by coordinators, analysts, and technical experts. The role requires independent work with minimal supervision, often involving waiting for approvals. The position is deadline-driven and requires adaptability to changing environments.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
