The Drafter is responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings for custom residential homes. This role supports architects, designers, and project managers by converting design concepts into precise construction documents using CAD software. The Drafter ensures compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and company standards while maintaining high-quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Key Responsibilities
+ Create and maintain detailed architectural drawings including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details using AutoCAD or Sketchup.
+ Interpret sketches, specifications, and design concepts provided by architects and designers.
+ Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to incorporate feedback and resolve design conflicts.
+ Prepare homesite-specific plans and submit documentation for permitting and regulatory compliance.
+ Update and revise drawings based on design changes, site conditions, or client requests.
+ Maintain organized CAD file libraries and ensure version control for all project documents.
+ Assist in estimating materials and dimensions for construction purposes.
+ Perform occasional site visits for measurements and verification of design accuracy.
Qualifications
+ Education: Associate’s degree in Architectural Drafting, Design, or related field (preferred).
+ Experience:2–4 years of drafting experience in residential construction or custom home building.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture and familiarity with Revit.
+ Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
+ Soft Skills:Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
+ Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Delafield, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
