    Job Title: Supply AssistantJob Description

     

    The Supply Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring that all supplies needed for surgical cases are maintained and delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

    Responsibilities

    + Communicate effectively with Surgery, Instrumentation Systems, and S&D personnel to request, receive, locate, and deliver needed supplies promptly and courteously.

    + Inform staff of any breaks in aseptic technique related to packaging and handling.

    + Exhibit knowledge in the functions of all shift responsibilities.

    + Demonstrate the ability to operate carousels, handheld computers, personal computers, and other inventory management tools.

    + Utilize handheld devices to order, restock, and maintain surgery and anesthesia inventory.

    + Maintain prescribed inventory PAR levels on carousels and supply carts.

    + Monitor the case cart/supply process for each surgical case.

    + Check case carts against preference cards for completeness and order any missing items.

    + Clean supply carts and bins according to the monthly assignment schedule.

    + Coordinate the return of unused supply and instrumentation items.

    + Remove unused or overstocked supplies and instrumentation from alcoves and carts in a timely manner.

    + Return unused items to their proper storage location according to PAR levels and rotate stock when replenishing.

    + Support unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities.

    + Attend mandatory in-services and meet unit educational standards.

    + Modify behaviors or performance to comply with care standards and unit requirements.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by the Surgical Services Resources Manager.

    + Exercise independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.

    + Work with internal and external customers, including other healthcare professionals and staff, via telephone or face-to-face interaction.

    Essential Skills

    + Medical assisting

    + Sterile processing

    + Inventory management

    + Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

    + Basic computer skills

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or GED

    + Zero (0) to six (6) months of related experience

    Work Environment

    The work schedule is from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The role involves interacting with internal and external customers, including other healthcare professionals and staff, in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
