Job Description: Safety Coordinator – (De Soto, KS)

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to support operations on the battery manufacturing project in De Soto, KS. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, leadership, and collaboration with both safety and supervisory teams.

Work Schedule:

+ 6 days per week

+ Up to 11 hours per day

+ Must be present whenever their employees are on-site

Team Oversight:

+ Collaborate with safety and supervisory teams

+ Oversee approximately 30 employees

Contract Details:

+ Duration: Minimum 12 months

+ Open-ended contract with 9-month terms

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Conduct weekly site safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and client-specific standards

+ Lead and document incident and injury reporting procedures

+ Facilitate safety orientations for new hires and subcontractors

+ Coordinate monthly all-hands safety meetings and participate in foreman meetings to address safety concerns

+ Assist in developing and enforcing Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)

+ Ensure proper use and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

+ Maintain safety documentation including training records, method statements, and compliance logs

+ Serve as a liaison between construction teams and clients to resolve safety issues

+ Support planning for high-risk activities and provide guidance on corrective actions

+ Stay current with industry safety standards and regulatory updates

Required Skills & Certifications:

+ OSHA 30 certification

+ First Aid and CPR certified

+ Strong knowledge of construction safety, OSHA regulations, and safety program implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

+ CHST certification or a relevant degree (required if candidate has less than 3 years of experience)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
