The Project Coordinator will assist the Project Manager with managing day-to-day construction activities through project closeout. This role involves coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure that design intent and construction standards are met. You will develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress reports while conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work. Prompt resolution of construction-related issues is essential to avoid delays or cost overruns. You will implement and enforce site-specific safety plans in accordance with OSHA and company standards and conduct routine safety audits and inspections, documenting findings and corrective actions. Promoting a culture of safety and accountability among all project stakeholders is a vital part of this role.
Responsibilities
+ Assist Project Manager with managing day-to-day construction activities through project closeout.
+ Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure design intent and construction standards are met.
+ Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
+ Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
+ Resolve construction-related issues promptly to avoid delays or cost overruns.
+ Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
+ Conduct routine safety audits and inspections, documenting findings and corrective actions.
+ Promote a culture of safety and accountability among all project stakeholders.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners.
+ Maintain accurate records of construction activities, safety incidents, and compliance documentation.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in construction management, safety, and OSHA compliance.
+ Proficiency in project coordination and administration.
+ Ability to conduct safety audits and implement safety plans.
+ Strong skills in documentation, quality control, and site management.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction software.
+ Experience with change orders, renovation, and construction safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BA Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or similar preferred.
+ 1+ year of experience in construction management in roles such as Project Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, or Field Engineer.
+ OSHA 30 certification preferred.
+ OSHA Subpart R steel erection safety certificate preferred.
Work Environment
The work hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break. Travel and mileage are not reimbursable unless the client requires travel beyond the job site and approves the expense in advance. The role requires no travel beyond the project site. A trailer onsite with a temporary desk setup is available, but this role will be heavily spent on your feet walking the job site. The position offers a very flexible schedule, allowing you to be the master of your own time.

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $39.66/hr.
