    Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer (Hybrid | NYC)

    We’re hiring a Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer to lead design efforts, mentor junior staff, and coordinate across disciplines on high-performance building projects. This is a hybrid position based in NYC, ideal for candidates with 4+ years of experience and a passion for both technical design and team leadership.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Lead plumbing and fire protection design across all project phases—from schematic design through construction administration

    + Mentor junior engineers and provide redline feedback

    + Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants

    + Attend and contribute to client meetings

    + Ensure quality assurance of technical documentation and drawing sets

    + Solve design challenges using sound engineering judgment

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering

    + 4+ years of plumbing and fire protection design experience

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit

    + Strong understanding of system sizing, flow, and pressure calculations

    + Familiarity with diverse building types and occupancies

    + Excellent communication and client-facing skills

    + EIT or PE certification preferred

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr.
