Job Title: Systems Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work hands-on with both hardware and software, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT network devices and infrastructure systems. This role is crucial for maintaining network integrity, providing support, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
+ Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with IT network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points, as well as infrastructure systems including monitoring tools and network management systems.
+ Engage in hands-on work with hardware and software, including building out server rooms and patch rooms.
+ Operate infrastructure network equipment and systems under FDA regulations and guidelines related to computer-based information and automation systems.
+ Provide tier 1-2 IT network support, including after-hours assistance.
+ Administer and support onsite virtual servers at tier 1-2 levels.
+ Offer tier 1 support for the site ERP system, SAP, including iDOC monitoring, analysis, and resolution.
+ Act as a liaison between site end users and headquarters end user support for the site ERP system, SAP.
+ Provide ad-hoc production support and after-hours support for IT-related issues at the site.
+ Maintain network and infrastructure documentation in accordance with corporate requirements.
+ Support backup and restore processes for manufacturing systems.
+ Interact with equipment and service vendors for troubleshooting, installation, and improving reliability and/or efficiency.
+ Deliver superior customer service.
+ Adhere to safety procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment and following company policies.
+ Follow all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and ensure products are manufactured according to procedures.
+ Maintain training readiness.
+ Follow all safety and environmental requirements during the performance of duties.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited university. An Associate’s degree with seven years of relevant experience may be considered.
+ Certification in a networking infrastructure discipline such as CCNA or CCNP is preferred.
+ Specific knowledge of networking principles and concepts.
+ Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, resolving, and documenting IT network devices and infrastructure systems.
+ Experience supporting Windows-based virtual servers.
+ Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food, cosmetic, beverage, or relevant industries.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Perform life-cycle system development tasks for IT network and infrastructure systems.
+ Operate infrastructure networks equipment and systems under FDA regulations and guidelines.
+ Adhere to IT networking and infrastructure policies and procedures.
+ Implement IT network security.
+ Coordinate activities of IT networking, infrastructure, and application teams.
+ Maintain network and infrastructure documentation in accordance with federal and corporate requirements.
Work Environment
This position requires working in the office five days a week, Monday through Friday. A local candidate is preferred, as relocation, travel, and lodging expenses will not be reimbursed
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Clayton, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $95.00/hr.
