Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of completed vehicles and supplied parts within the manufacturing process. This role involves developing and executing quality standards and inspection plans, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and resolving issues using FMDS and/or TBP methods. The Quality Engineer will also be involved in new model vehicle development, quality business plan strategy deployment, and problem resolution across departments.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and execute quality standards and inspection plans for manufacturing and suppliers.
+ Monitor all KPIs and identify and resolve issues using FMDS and TBP methods.
+ Participate in new model vehicle development with design and manufacturing teams.
+ Deploy quality business plan strategy and objectives within the manufacturing process.
+ Resolve quality problems across departments and affiliates.
+ Coordinate activities with other departments and external organizations to achieve objectives.
+ Ensure quality of completed vehicle manufacturing units and supplied parts.
+ Prevent quality recurrence and assure vehicle evaluation for major or minor projects.
+ Support simultaneous engineering regionally or globally depending on the project.
+ Manage capital equipment specification and installation for inspection processes.
+ Execute customer satisfaction improvement activities as a Field Specialist.
+ Develop and execute quality system improvements at plant and regional levels as a Technical Support Specialist.
+ Set inspection standards and manage daily and customer issues.
+ Assure quality of completed vehicles and supplied parts through KPI monitoring and problem registration systems.
+ Manage change points including engineering and supplier process changes.
+ Report periodically to management.
Qualifications
+ Quality Engineering experience, particularly in the automotive industry.
+ Proficiency with Fishbone, 5 Why, Pareto, Excel, OEM, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Mechanical, process, and manufacturing engineering experience.
+ Experience in manufacturing, preferably with co-op or internship experience.
+ Understanding of Automotive OEM Manufacturing processes is a plus.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tupelo, MS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
