Overview
The Strategy & Growth team (i.e., Corporate Development team) at Select Medical is responsible for driving long-term value across the company’s three core service lines. This team partners closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders within the company to evaluate and execute joint venture opportunities with leading health systems nationwide and proactively source acquisition targets.
The team also plays a key role in analyzing industry trends, competitor positioning, real estate opportunities, and demographic/geographic dynamics to inform strategic decision-making. The Senior Associate will be a key contributor, primarily focused on the transaction lifecycle of growth initiatives—including financial modeling, data analytics, strategic analysis, real estate leasing, disposition, and acquisition and execution of joint ventures and opportunistic acquisitions.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally with senior leaders and corporate departments to facilitate growth through investment and strategic partnerships.
The Senior Associate reports to the Strategy & Growth team, led by the Executive Vice President (EVP) of Strategy & Growth. The EVP reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This structure provides the Senior Associate with high visibility and access to executive decision-making, as well as opportunities to contribute meaningfully to enterprise-level growth initiatives
Responsibilities
+ Conduct due diligence and market analysis on health systems and strategic markets.
+ Perform industry and competitor analysis to support strategic positioning and partnership development.
+ Analyze real estate opportunities and site-level dynamics in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
+ Evaluate demographic and geographic trends, including mapping and spatial analysis, to identify high-potential growth areas.
+ Develop and maintain detailed financial models and valuations for potential partnerships and M&A opportunities.
+ Support relationship management with current and prospective partners.
+ Assist in deal execution, including coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners.
+ Prepare investment proposals and presentation materials for senior leadership.
+ Track and assess post-transaction performance to inform future deal strategy.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (required).
+ 2–4 years of experience in transaction advisory, investment banking, management consulting, corporate finance, or a similar field (required).
+ Passed CFA Level 1 (required).
+ Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
+ Experience with market research, real estate analysis, or GIS/mapping tools is a plus.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and prioritization abilities.
+ Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to present complex information clearly.
+ Proven problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
