The State of Connecticut (https://portal.ct.gov/) , Division of Criminal Justice (DCJ) (https://portal.ct.gov/dcj) is responsible for the investigation and prosecution of all criminal matters in the State of Connecticut. It is an independent agency of the executive branch of state government, established under the Constitution of the State of Connecticut. The Division is composed of the Office of the Chief State's Attorney, located in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, and the Offices of the State's Attorneys for each of the thirteen Judicial Districts in the State of Connecticut.
About this Position:
We are recruiting for a full-time DCJ Information Technology Analyst Trainee (https://www.jobapscloud.com/CT/specs/classspecdisplay.asp?ClassNumber=1566DJ&LinkSpec=RecruitNum2&R1=&R3=) for the Office of the Chief State's Attorney in Rocky Hill, CT. This position works Monday through Friday, based on a 40-hour work week, with core hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm. The position number is 4884.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Division of Criminal Justice this class is accountable for receiving on the job training in performing technical work involving help desk functions, user support and assisting in application development.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
+ Receives on the job training to perform tasks as outlined in the specification for the class of DCJ Information Technology Analyst 1;
+ Performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
+ Knowledge of
+ functioning and use of information systems;
+ major concepts and terms used in the information technology profession;
+ Skills
+ interpersonal skills;
+ logic and analytical skills;
+ Ability to
+ prepare and maintain accurate records;
+ prepare written materials and reports;
+ follow oral and written instructions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Candidates must be able to meet the experience and training requirements of the designated job class at the completion of the development program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants with the following experience and training:
+ Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
+ Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP, DNS, DHCP).
+ Exposure to ticketing systems.
+ Strong experience in verbal and written communication.
+ Customer service orientation and patience under pressure.
+ Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
+ CompTIA A+ Certification (preferred but not required).
+ Demonstrated interest in IT support through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
+ Experience following documented procedures and escalate issues appropriately.
+ Flexibility to travel to various office locations as needed.
