    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Iowa City. This role is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of residential and commercial properties. The technician will handle everything from routine upkeep and repairs to assisting with property renovations and upgrades. The ideal candidate is versatile, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Maintenance & Upkeep

    + Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and systems.

    + Perform repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building components.

    + Maintain landscaping, walkways, parking lots, and exterior features.

    + Respond to maintenance requests and emergency calls in a timely manner.

    + Ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes.

    Renovation & Property Improvements

    + Assist in planning and executing renovation projects.

    + Perform demolition, framing, drywall, painting, flooring, and finish carpentry.

    + Collaborate with contractors and vendors during remodeling efforts.

    + Upgrade fixtures, cabinetry, and other interior/exterior elements.

    + Track progress and report updates to management.

    Administrative & Operational Duties

    + Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory.

    + Support budgeting and cost estimation for repairs and renovations.

    + Recommend improvements to enhance property value and efficiency.

    + Ensure proper care and storage of tools and equipment.

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.

    + Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or construction.

    + Proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.

    + Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    + Excellent communication and time management skills.

    Requirements:

    + Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

    + Availability for on-call emergency maintenance as needed.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Iowa City, IA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $62400.00/yr.

    Paid health, PPE, tools provided,

    Vacation and PTO from day one. Company van and cell phone, gas paid for on call.

     

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Iowa City,IA.
