Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
We are seeking two dedicated general production workers to join our facility in Iowa City. Your role will involve working in key production areas where raw products are mixed and pelletized to create specific animal feeds. These feeds are then bagged and prepared for shipment. Cross-training in all production areas is mandatory, with special training provided in the control room alongside a senior team member.
Responsibilities
+ Monitor the efficiency of the production line to ensure timely loading and shipment.
+ Be a reliable team member with consistent attendance and excellent performance.
+ Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to improve processes.
+ Maintain a clean worksite to prevent hazards from chemicals and fragile products.
+ Strictly adhere to safety guidelines throughout the facility.
+ Perform all processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, including mixing, bagging, spray drying, fluid bed drying, and powered lift equipment operation.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with hand tools.
+ 6+ months experience in an agriculture and/or manufacturing setting.
+ Mechanical background with basic math skills.
+ Ability to learn and follow instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Farm experience in other feed operation facilities.
+ Troubleshooting skills.
+ Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
+ AG or feed mill experience is preferred.

Work Environment
Work in a feed mill processing plant that is non-climate controlled, meaning it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The facility is equipped with older machinery that requires manual adjustments. The production team consists of 15 people. Adhere to a dress code of long pants and a shirt, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and ear protection. Shift options include 1st (6 AM - 2:30 PM), 2nd (2 PM - 10:30 PM), and 3rd (10 PM - 6:30 AM).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Iowa City, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
