The Department of Neurological Surgery is currently seeking a part time Research Associate 1 to work in Miami, FL. The Research Associate 1, SOM supports research activities for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments on assigned research projects. Moreover, the incumbent operates with the goal of advancing his/her expertise through continued education, training, and research.CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

+ Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.

+ Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.

+ Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.

+ Keeps abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research.

+ Performs a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

Department Specific Functions

This position will support the ongoing work of the UM Brain Tumor Institute and Sylvester Cancer Center on the development and discovery of novel brain tumor treatments. Investigators focus on glioblastoma prognosis and treatment, biomarker identification and improving drug delivery through the brain barrier for a variety of tumor types. The position will support both clinical trial and basic science research. Researcher will access medical records and imaging database for research purposes. Research will work on Acoustic neuroma and Connectomic research
