The University of Miami UHealth Department of Imaging Services has an exciting opportunity for a Chief MRI Technologist at The Griffin Cancer Research Building (GCRB) in Miami. Covering the second shift, 11:30am to 8:00pm. The incumbent maintains responsibility for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations, department/hospital policies and procedures, objectives and philosophy. The Chief MRI Technologist is accountable for the efficient patient throughout and 24-hr supervisory responsibility of department and of all departmental staff member’s scheduling, technical guidance and performance improvement. The Chief MRI Technologist performs diagnostic/job functions as required of a MRI Technologist at a level that will require no supervision of technical details.CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
PERFORMS ALL DUTIES OF TECH 1, 2,& 3
+ Performs all duties of Level I & II technologist.
+ Supervises imaging services, including performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of assigned personnel.
+ Assists in compilation of statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.
+ Contributions to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.
+ Responsible for hire, discipline, and promotion of department staff.
+ Obtains and examines the diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.
+ Coordinate/manage scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.
+ Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.
+ Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

Education:High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or licenseExperience:Minimum 5 years of relevant experience requiredCertification and Licensing:Valid State of Florida General Radiographer license requiredRefer to department description for applicable certification requirementsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
