    Job Title: CNC Horizontal Mill Machinist - 2nd Shift

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated CNC Horizontal Mill Machinist for our 2nd shift. You will play a crucial role in manufacturing firefighting equipment such as handline nozzles, apparatus valves, industrial valves, and more. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your machining skills in a dynamic work environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Mill machining centers.

    + Allocate 40% of your time to performing setups and changeouts, and 60% to monitoring machine runs, performing inspections, and maintaining work areas.

    + Conduct 1 to 3 setups per shift, managing runs from 20 to 200 parts.

    + Operate Toyoda and Okuma Horizontal Milling Centers, running two machines simultaneously.

    + Read and interpret component prints or drawings.

    + Utilize micrometers and calipers to ensure parts meet specifications.

    + Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, and fixtures on machines.

    + Perform touch editing of CNC mill machinery.

    + Maintain a tolerance of +/- .002.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of experience in setup, changeouts, offsets, and operation of CNC Milling machinery.

    + Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

    + Experience with tight tolerances up to +/- .005.

    + Understanding of G & M codes for tooling changes and offset adjustments.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints with up to 100 dimensions.

    + Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with 4 and 5 axis mills is a plus.

    + Background in a job shop environment is advantageous.

    + Ownership of precision measurement tools is preferred.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $27.04 - $29.54/hr.
