Job Title: Welder
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our final assembly department. As a member of our team, you will work alongside 10 other welders, reporting directly to the Welding Supervisor and Plant Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to fabricate machined parts by performing TIG welding, predominantly in horizontal positions, while also handling some MIG welding tasks. You will be instrumental in the final assembly of products, ensuring high-quality finishes on stainless steel and aluminum pieces.
Responsibilities
+ Perform 95% TIG welding and 5% MIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum components.
+ Oversee and support all TIG welding and final assembly processes.
+ Utilize hand tools such as angle grinders and sanders to finish rough edges on newly stamped or formed metal parts.
+ Operate equipment like tube benders, drill presses, and saws to assist in creating necessary parts.
+ Read and interpret blueprints specific to each job for short-run production or single jobs.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 3 years of TIG welding experience with stainless steel, particularly on thin gauges like 14 GA.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, including understanding blueprint symbols and tolerances.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in fabrication and assembly.
+ Familiarity with machine shop tools such as lathes, Bridgeport mills, saws, and grinders.
+ Experience in pipefitting and MIG welding.

The work environment is clean and organized, with a focus on manufacturing and assembling specialized equipment. Employees are expected to wear appropriate working attire, including a welding helmet, gloves, and steel toe boots. The company operates with a total of 84 employees, including a team of 10 welders, and maintains a laid-back culture across various departments such as Engineering, Machining, Welding, Metal Finishing, and Shipping/Receiving.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison Heights, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
