Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
The chosen candidate will be responsible for various tasks within the facility, with the opportunity to be cross-trained on all processes. This role involves wearing multiple hats to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
Responsibilities
+ Lift and handle up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the day.
+ Break down raw materials.
+ Fill sacks and stack them on pallets for the forklift operator.
+ Move pallets of material from one location to another within the facility.
+ Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and potentially front-end loaders.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of forklift operating experience.
+ Proficient math skills for weighing out materials.
+ Experience operating mobile equipment, including forklifts, sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, and other heavy equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2+ years of heavy equipment operation experience (bulldozer, front-end loader, bobcat, overhead crane, etc.).
+ Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
+ Proven reliability and attendance.
+ Leadership experience is a plus.
+ Experience as a farm hand is beneficial.
+ Railroad experience is advantageous.

Work Environment
This role is based in a non-climate-controlled facility, which can be dusty on the shop floor. The position may require some outdoor work as well. The standard shift is from 6 AM to 2:30 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Porte, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
