Job Title: Production Line Operator
Job Description
The Production Line Operator will play a crucial role in leading the production line, responsible for loading the machine with raw material coils and dies, monitoring in-process quality and production flow, and ensuring a quality finished product. The process is highly automated, with the operator primarily standing at a control panel and overseeing the production line to ensure smooth operations and timely changeovers. Proficiency in operating production equipment using the PLC/HMI touchscreen, as well as using a tape measure for quality checks and entering data into Excel, is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Load the machine using a forklift.
+ Monitor in-process quality and production flow.
+ Ensure the production of a quality finished product.
+ Operate the PLC/HMI touchscreen to control the production process.
+ Use a tape measure to perform quality checks.
+ Enter quality check data into Excel spreadsheets.
+ Troubleshoot basic issues
+ Lead the line with laborers
Essential Skills
+ Experience operating a sit-down forklift
+ Ability to stand on feet for 8-10 hours a day outside of breaks.
+ Proficiency in reading a tape measure for quality measurements.
+ Ability to key enter values in Microsoft Excel (no formulas).
+ Experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment using a PLC run program (HMI touchscreen/high-speed packaging).
+ Must possess steel-toe boots (boot allowance provided once full-time).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Computer skills, including Excel data entry.
+ Experience with machine operation, HMI, and PLCs.
+ Mechanical skills for machine setup and troubleshooting.
+ Familiarity with manufacturing operations and packaging lines.
+ Experience using hand and power tools.

Work Environment
The position is for the 2nd shift (3 p.m. - 11 p.m.), with training on the 1st shift (5 a.m. - 3 p.m.). The manufacturing environment is not air-conditioned but is equipped with large fans to maintain a comfortable working temperature. PPE requirements include steel toes, long pants/jeans, gloves, and eye protection (provided).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
