    Job Title: Machine Technician

    Job Description

    The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot production machinery. The role involves setting up and operating carton flow-related equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, adjusting machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform periodic checks on equipment and solve problems as detected.

    + Perform changeovers from one format to another.

    + Conduct necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.

    + Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.

    + Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high-quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.

    + Perform basic preventative maintenance on packaging machines and assist in troubleshooting machine-related issues.

    + Report food safety and quality issues to Plant Management.

    + Keep machines and area clean and safe.

    + Follow standardized work procedures and adhere to safe work practices.

    + Focus on continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.

    + Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s).

    Essential Skills

    + Troubleshooting

    + Mechanical skills

    + Packaging experience

    + Experience with changeovers

    + Experience with hand tools to set up packaging lines

    + Ability to troubleshoot packaging lines

    + Mechanical inclination to perform light adjustments and repairs

    + Production knowledge

    + Preventive maintenance experience

    + Ability to set up machines

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Basic math and computer skills are required.

    + Fluency in English is required.

    + Spanish language fluency and/or knowledge is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    This position is for the 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM in a food manufacturing facility that adheres to strict GMP guidelines. The work environment requires no jewelry or makeup to maintain compliance with safety standards.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Piscataway, NJ.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
