    Job Title: Grind Operator

    Job Description

    As a Grind Operator, you will be responsible for reading blueprints and job orders to determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and the number of parts to be ground. You will review tooling instructions to determine speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and the appropriate grinding or honing tools. Your role will involve setting up and operating honing, lapping, and grinding equipment to machine and finish surfaces to the desired conditions.

    Responsibilities

    + Read blueprints and job orders for product specifications.

    + Review tooling instructions for speeds, feed rates, and tools.

    + Position and secure mandrel in spindle with proper honing stone.

    + Mount and dress wheel to specifications.

    + Set up machine controls for specified grinding speeds and feed rates.

    + Set gauges such as bore, plug, and air gauges to check parts.

    + Verify dimensions of finished workpieces for conformance.

    + Grind metallic materials.

    + Maintain cleanliness according to 5S standards.

    + Follow all company safety rules.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with honing, lapping, and grinding equipment.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.

    + Proficiency in using standard measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers.

    + Demonstrated ability to operate OD, centerless, and surface grinding machines.

    + Basic shop math skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in the manufacturing industry.

    + Familiarity with CNC, machining, and production processes.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based in a standard machine shop. There is a preference for candidates available for the 2nd shift, but 1st shift is also an option. The 1st shift runs from Monday to Friday, 5:00am - 1:30pm, while the 2nd shift is from Monday to Friday, 3:00pm - 1:30am.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $34.00/hr.
