• **Job Type:** Contract to Hire
• **Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 40–50 hours/week, occasional Saturdays
• About the Role
We’re seeking skilled **Heavy Equipment Operators** to support construction projects in **Suffolk, VA** . This role focuses on **dozer operations** and includes tasks like site prep, grading, roadway construction, pipe laying, and stormwater system installation.
•️ Key Responsibilities
+ 🚧 Operate dozers and other heavy equipment for site preparation
+ 📏 Perform fine and rough grading to maintain level surfaces
+ 🛣️ Assist in roadway construction and pipe installation
+ 🌧️ Install stormwater lines and erosion control systems
+ 💪 Support small crews with labor-intensive tasks as needed
• Required Skills & Experience
+ 🏗️ Skilled in operating bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, backhoes, front-end loaders, and motor graders
+ 📐 Proficient in fine and rough grading techniques
+ 🔄 Comfortable using mini excavators and skid steers
+ 🧠 Strong understanding of earth-moving operations and safety protocols
• Preferred Qualifications
+ 🚛 Experience with rubber tire loaders, dump trucks, and pan scrapers
+ 👷 Ability to work effectively in small crew environments
+ 🧱 Willingness to perform physical labor when required

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cape Charles, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
