    **Job Title:** Construction Labor

    **Pay:** $20-$25/hour

    **Location:** Syracuse, NY

    **Shift:** 7:00AM-3:30PM

    Job Description

    We are seeking experienced construction laborers to join our team for utility and site construction projects. The ideal candidate will have over two years of experience in construction, particularly on road, site, civil, and utility projects. The position involves traveling within central and eastern New York, with a willingness to work overtime when necessary. Candidates should demonstrate strong safety practices and a good work ethic.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist with excavation, trenching, and site preparation for utility installations.

    + Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment.

    + Operate basic hand and power tools safely.

    + Support pipefitters, electricians, and heavy equipment operators as needed.

    + Perform backfilling, compacting, and grading to restore work areas.

    + Install and maintain temporary structures, such as barricades and safety signage.

    + Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean, hazard-free work environment.

    + Assist in final site cleanup and preparation for inspections.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction labor, particularly in road, site, civil, and utility construction.

    + Ability to travel within central and eastern New York.

    + Willingness to work overtime.

    + Good safety practices and hygiene.

    + Basic knowledge of construction tools and techniques.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + OSHA 10 certification.

    + Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50-100 lbs regularly.

    + Experience in sewer systems and pipe laying.

    + Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.

    + Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is entirely outdoors, requiring you to work in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, cold, heat, and wind, as long as it is safe. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work and overtime ranging from 2 to 20 hours per week. Candidates will report to a foreman or project superintendent within crews ranging from 1-2 up to 10 people. Be prepared for physical demands such as heavy lifting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and using hand and arm dexterity.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, NY.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
