Job Title: Mold Technician - 3rd Shift
Job Description
This hands-on technical role is responsible for molding machine setups, start-ups, operations, and shut-downs during the 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Sunday-Thursday). Key duties include performing mold changes, lockout/tagout procedures, machine start-ups, mold setting, and material handling. The technician ensures that machines, molds, and equipment are properly functioning and maintained.
Responsibilities
+ Perform mold changes and machine start-ups.
+ Conduct lockout/tagout procedures.
+ Handle material and set up molds.
+ Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of machines, molds, and equipment.
+ Complete Mold Tech Level 1 training within 7 days of starting the job.
+ Complete Mold Tech Level 2 training within 90 days of starting the job.
+ Complete Mold Tech Level 3 training within 180 days of starting the job.
Essential Skills
+ 1+ years of injection molding experience.
+ 1+ years of overhead crane experience.
+ 1+ years of material handling/mold setting experience.
+ Mechanically inclined with experience in machine operation and mold setup.
+ Experience in troubleshooting, mechanical maintenance, and repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum score of 16 on the Wonderlic Personnel Test.
+ Meet physical requirements: stand and walk for entire shift, lift 60 pounds repeatedly.
+ Able to wear steel-toed footwear and work around a magnetic field.
+ Adequate visual acuity for molding press programming.
+ Capable of exerting up to 150 foot-pounds on a torque wrench.
+ Meet requirements for crane license.

Work Environment
Work in a typical injection molding and automotive manufacturing environment, which can get warm in the summer. The plant is one of the largest in the region and is currently undergoing continuous improvement and kaizen initiatives, making it a very organized workplace. Expect to work in a dirtier plant due to the high usage of the injection mold area. The shift includes 5-10+ hours of overtime, typical for the automotive industry.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vicksburg, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.81/hr.
