A Day in Your Life at MKS

As an Engineering Technician at MKS, you will partner with Engineering and Internal Teams to support the design, testing, and troubleshooting of prototype electro-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

+ Supporting engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems.

+ Assisting in the development and testing of analog, digital, and logic systems.

+ Performing testing, checkout, and troubleshooting using schematics, diagrams, layouts, and verbal/written instructions.

+ Conducting engineering and experimental tests to collect design data and support research efforts.

+ Performing operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment.

+ Assisting in the design and construction of specialized test equipment and determining solutions for malfunctions.

Skills You Bring:

+ Associate degree or equivalent technician experience.

+ Minimum of 4+ years of related experience.

+ Experience with analog, digital, and logic systems.

+ Proficiency in reading schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.

+ Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other diagnostic equipment.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and perform fault isolation on complex systems.

Preferred Skills:

+ Experience with experimental design circuitry.

+ Familiarity with software used in diagnostic equipment.

+ Knowledge of safety protocols for handling mechanical and electrical hardware.

+ Experience working in laboratory or manufacturing environments.

+ Strong communication and documentation skills.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

+ Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time.

+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

+ Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination.

+ Occasionally moves/positions objects up to [Insert] pounds.

+ Ability to remain in a stationary position for [Insert]% of the time.

+ Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level.

+ Must be able to communicate information and ideas clearly and exchange accurate information.

+ Operates in a professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing environment.

+ Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.

+ Ability to observe documents and details at close range.

+ Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat.

+ Noise level in the work environment is usually average.
