Required Qualifications:
1. Doctoral degree in music by the start of appointment; OR a master’s degree in music and 7 years of applied relevant experience.
2. Demonstrated record of productive teaching excellence at the collegiate or equivalent level.
3. Documented success as a cello artist/performer, as evidenced in application materials.

Position Overview:
The University of Kansas School of Music is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor - Artist - Teacher of Cello. This position will teach applied cello lessons (undergraduate and graduate) and related courses; build and maintain a strong cello studio; work individually and collaboratively in recruiting music performance, music education, and music therapy students; supervise/mentor teaching assistants; work cooperatively in support of the School of Music and the University, including service on graduate and faculty committees; establish a research/creative agenda pursuant of artistic growth and an expanding reputation of excellence; and participate actively in the cultural and intellectual life of the School and the University.
