    Summary of Role:

    The Financial Controller leads all accounting operations - daily, monthly and quarterly- and supervises a team of staff members having functional responsibilities over accounts payable and purchasing. This role oversees the company's accounting operations and the subsidiary consolidations, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and implementation of controls to mitigate risk and ensure accurate financial reporting. The Controller ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAP) and contributes to both strategic and tactical initiatives.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    + Provide executive leadership across all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, etc.

    + Analyze financial results, report findings and present recommendations to management.

    + Implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems; coordinate changes across division and ensure compliance

    + Work collaboratively with all business partners to foster cooperation that will enhance profitability and member service.

    + Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements across all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems.

    + Oversee Accounting, Accounts Payable and Purchasing functions

    + Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements across all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems.

    + Prepare internal financial statements.

    + Manage and be responsible for the month-end closing process.

    + Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.

    + Maintain and oversee the general ledger structure.

    + Ensure accuracy of financial records and proper allocation of revenue and expenses.

    + Review monthly financial reports and operating expense variances.

    + Approve non-routine general ledger entries.

    + Establish and monitor departmental policies and procedures.

    + Review completed account reconciliations.

    + Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and regulatory examiners.

    + Prepare financial statements and footnotes for all required corporate audits.

    + Oversee the preparation and transmission of the weekly FRB 2900 and quarterly 5300 NCUA reports.

    + Support the annual budgeting and planning process.

    + Respond to special projects and requests from the CEO, CFO, and other senior leadership.

    + Provide monthly updates on key initiatives.

    + Facilitate cross-department communication to resolve issues and achieve organizational goals.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    + Manage subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees

    + Oversee unit direction, coordination and evaluation

    + Conduct hiring, training, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

    Minimum Job Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; with 10+ years of experience

    + Master's degree, certification (CPA, CFA) or equivalent experience preferred.

    + Strong ability to interpret financial statements, regulations, and technical materials.

    + Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence and procedural documentations

    + Effective communicator with stakeholders at all levels, including board members.

    + Proficient in financial calculations such as interest, percentages and ratios

     

    Starting Compensation: $210,000 – $240,00 plus a competitive benefits package
