Summary You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the Quality Certification Division, Quality Assurance Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR. Responsibilities You will plan and coordinate the Trident Refit Facility (TRF) Quality Assurance program as a senior Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS). You will be responsible for SUBSAFE program oversight and implementation of required programs and processes leading to the maintenance and re-certification of critical submarine systems (e.g., SUBSAFE/Hull Integrity, Level I). You will serve in an advisory capacity and provide consultation to Division/Branch managers. You will review and concur on various fabrication processes and prepare formal reports that clearly and concisely identify project status. You will investigate, identify, and assess quality assurance controls, reviews procedures, Re-Entry, Controlled Work Packages (CWP), and in-process work to ensure Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) generated will support project re-certification. You will process and evaluate material deficiencies, SUBSAFE and Re-Entry controls, and Departures from Specifications (DFS) for compliance with technical and administrative requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing shipbuilding procedure and inspection processes to identify operational or procedural deficiencies and recommend corrective action to ensure ship overhaul, repair or conversion projects meet quality and certification requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires rotating shift work. PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ).
