    How you create impact

     

    The Vice President, Northeast Customs Brokerage is a strategic and operational leader responsible for driving excellence across Customs operations in the Northeast region. This role is pivotal in leading people, ensuring compliance, managing financial performance, and fostering commercial growth. The VP will leverage deep technical customs expertise, financial acumen, and leadership capabilities to inspire teams, optimize processes, and deliver sustainable value to customers and the business.

     

    + Oversee end-to-end Customs entry processes with granular technical oversight, ensuring operational efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in all Customs activities

    + Drive revenue growth through the acquisition of new clients, expansion of services offered to existing clients, and effective management of pricing strategies

    + In collaboration with national and regional teams, identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and reduce customs clearance times

    + Leverage technology and automation tools to streamline customs processes, such as electronic data interchange (EDI) systems for filing entries

    + Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure high levels of satisfaction with service delivery

    + Lead performance evaluations, coaching, and mentoring programs that align team members with both fixed and growth mindset principles

    + Drive talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives

    + Respond to and resolve operational issues, such as customs delays, supply chain disruptions, or client escalations, in a timely and effective manner

    + Own full P&L responsibility for the Northeast Customs operations, monitoring and managing budgets, forecasts, and cost controls to meet financial targets

    + Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to improve profitability

    + Track and analyze the profitability of the brokerage operations, identifying areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement

    + Implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality, such as negotiating better terms with suppliers or optimizing resource allocation

    + Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, including profit and loss statements, budget forecasts, and variance analyses

    + Identify opportunities for digitization and automation by understanding the fundamentals of entry processing, organizational structure, and technical capabilities

    + Partner with IT and process teams to implement scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency and data integrity

    + Advocate for technology adoption that aligns with business goals and customer expectations

    + Act as a key customer-facing leader in retention, business reviews, and solution development

    + Represent Customs capabilities in Trade Talks, articulating operational strengths and strategic value to customers

    + Partner with Sales and Account Management to support new business acquisition and customer sustainability

    + Translate operational capabilities into commercial value propositions

    + 10+ years’ industry experience with a minimum of 5 years managing and leading teams

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data. #LI-PD1
