**Siemens Smart Infrastructure** is looking for interns for
our **Electrification and Automation** division in **Wendell,NC** to support our portfolio of **protection and automation** products
and solutions. A variety of opportunities are available across the
business supporting project design tasks, operations, product development,
special projects and process improvements.
We are seeking qualified candidates for our Protection & AutomationEngineering Spring-Summer Internship beginning in January 2026. Thisprogram is based in Wendell, NC.
Our **Protection & Automation TechnicianInternship Program** offers hands-on experience inside our **PanelAssembly Workshop (PA PAWS)** in Wendell, NC - where Industrial Control
Panels (ICPs) are built to power the control systems that protect and automate
electrical substations.
This internship is designed for **students pursuingassociates degrees** who want to develop technical skills in **electricalassembly, protection, and automation systems** while working
side-by-side with experienced Siemens mentors.
A **successful internship can lead directly into ourfull-time Protection & Automation Technician Development Program (PA TDP)** after
graduation.
What You’ll Do
+ Assist in **assemblingand wiring** industrial control panels for electrical substations.
+ Learn andapply **wire cutting, crimping, and routing best practices** usingSiemens standards.
+ Support **paneltesting and verification** , including electrical safety checks,continuity testing, and documentation.
+ Gain exposureto **fiber optic and Ethernet testing** used in modernprotection and automation systems.
+ Participate inreal-world **Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)** with customersand Siemens engineers.
+ Collaboratewith experienced technicians and engineers to learn how **protectionrelays and automation devices** integrate into substationapplications.
Throughout the program, you’ll gain exposure to:
+ Hands-onexperience in **Protection & Automation technologies** usedacross utilities, data centers, and renewable energy systems.
+ Mentorship fromSiemens experts in engineering, manufacturing, and quality.
+ Exposure toSiemens’ **Power Academy** training curriculum.
+ Potentialfast-track into the **PA Technician Development Program (PA TDP)** uponsuccessful completion and graduation.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
+ Currently enrolledin an **Electrical Engineering** , **Electrical SystemsTechnology** , **Electronics Engineering Technology** , or relatedprogram (Associate level).
+ In your **finalyear** or approaching graduation (eligible to work at least 20hours/week).
+ Interested inlearning how power systems, protection relays, and automation panels worktogether.
+ Demonstratedattention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to safety.
+ Proficiency inEnglish, including reading, writing, and speaking.
+ Must be able tolift parts or sub-assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally.
+ Applicants mustbe legally authorized for employment within the United States without theneed for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

+ The pay for this positionis $20.00/hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher dependingon budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, andpremium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligibleto contribute into our 401K program.
