    Microsoft’s Worldwide Sales & Solutions (WSS) organization, is accountable for commercial leadership in multiple areas. WSS drives sales through the industry, enterprise, partner, devices, customer solution areas, and co-engineering teams. WSS operates the commercial business for enterprise, small & medium enterprise and channel, and consumer. WSS defines and lands end-to-end Go To Market across all segments. Finally, WSS partners with product teams on customer feedback and technical solutions.

     

    As the WSS Leadership Team (LT) **Principle** **Technica** **l Adviso** **r** (TA), you’ll play a strategic role working closely with the WWS LT to empower leaders with technical insight, shape technical strategy, influence technical stakeholders, and support executive-led technical engagement with customers and partners. You will demonstrate the unique combination of technical depth, familiarity with cutting-edge trends in enterprise and consumer AI, a continuous practice of learning, and concise communication that connects with the frontier agenda of our executive LT.

    Responsibilities

    + Brief WSS LT members (technical and non-technical) on technical topics and find/develop/customize collateral to support external engagements with customers and partners, as well as internal forums.

    + Cutting edge consumer and enterprise AI experiences, apps, and trends

    + Newly released and upcoming Microsoft product and research innovation

    + Competitive releases and industry/research trends

    + Priority product/technical topics from the WSS LT

    + Build, showcase, and enable others to leverage demos showcasing Microsoft platform innovation with partner solutions and in industry vertical contexts

    + Drive feedback to product teams based on learnings from demos

    + Engage with ISE and PTS teams to ground demos in reality of customer and partner trends, and to inform customer and partner roadmaps

    + Contribute to skill development & learning programs by helping to prioritize, scope, prototype, and review content

    + Build and nurture a network of technical peers across Microsoft to share best practices and maximize the impact of the role

    + Synthesize diverse inputs to develop an opinion on future tech trends and how best to position Microsoft and our customers and partners for success and relevance, and leverage the WSS LT to drive towards these outcomes

    Skills & Abilities:

    + Technical depth and know-how enabling credible and efficient engagement on technical topics with engineers, product managers, and technical leaders across Microsoft

    + Active listening skills, with the ability to ask insightful questions at the right level of abstraction for the task at hand and audience in the conversation

    + Ability to communicate concisely and effectively in oral and written form to both technical and non-technical executive audiences

    + Presence, maturity, and experience to engage with senior leaders at Microsoft for impact

    + Ability to engage customers and partners directly to gather feedback, demo and share technology, and ideate how they can apply our products to empower their business

    Qualifications

    Required/minimum qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field AND 8+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls

    + OR equivalent experience.

    + Demonstrated experience with verbal and written communication describing technology concepts to CXO leaders

    Additional or preferred qualifications

    + Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field AND 12+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls

    + OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field AND 15+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls

    + OR equivalent experience.

    + 10+ years technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.

    + Experience building demos to showcase technology

     

    Service Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
