Compensation: Compensation is dependent on experience and ranges from $108,000 -$115,000 per year.
General Summary of Position
Plan, Supervise and direct the work and the work force in the Engineering unit, including maintenance of mechanical and HVAC infrastructure and equipment, plumbing, grounds, and facility finishes, and provision of client utility services in adherence with safety requirements/codes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Direct the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, plumbing, grounds, HVAC equipment and apparatus and facility finishes throughout the center
+ Oversee operations of outside vendors/contractors performing work particularly to the engineering department
+ Make Engineering crew work assignments
+ Schedule and supervise the work of the engineering crew in a manner that reflects the high quality of service intended for the Colorado Convention Center
+ Plan and implement short- and long-term preventive and anticipated maintenance and repair programs
+ Resolve normal and unexpected technical field problems
+ Develop and implement the most cost-effective means for operations of mechanical, HVAC and associated equipment
+ Submit operation, Capital equipment and Capital improvement budgets
+ Maintain budget tracking in compliance with operating goals
+ Implement approved purchase requests
+ Maintain an accurate set of HVACS, mechanical and plumbing as-built drawings
+ Provide training for new employees
+ Maintain a safe working environment
+ Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
+ Three to five years’ experience in a facility engineering position
+ Two to four years supervisory experience
+ Experience with computer-based operating and energy management systems
+ High school diploma or GED
Skills and Abilities:
+ Demonstrate excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills among all levels of staff and clientele.
+ Work effectively with diverse groups of people among all levels within an organization; skill to work effectively as part of a team.

Computer Skills:
+ Basic computer skills including ability to create word documents and excel spreadsheets
+ Experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
+ EPA Universal Certification
+ Boiler Operator or Refrigeration Operator Certificate
+ Valid Driver’s License
