    We are seeking an innovative Lead R&D Engineer/Scientist to develop advanced thermal management technologies for high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. In this role, you will lead the design and development of cutting-edge cooling systems, conduct experiments on liquid cooling, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to revolutionize the industry. This is an opportunity to push the boundaries of electronics thermal management, material compatibility, and computational performance in high-performance computing environments.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead the design, development, and evaluation of advanced liquid cooling solutions. Advance thermal management technologies for HPC infrastructures, focusing on direct-to-chip and immersion cooling systems.

    + Serve as the subject matter expert in evaluating thermal performance and electrical/computational performance criteria.

    + Design, source, build, and operate testbeds and proof-of-concept systems, analyzing thermal and computational performance with a deep understanding of underlying physics.

    + Develop and validate thermal models for various challenging thermal designs including die, package, system level thermal modeling.

    + Work closely with Chemistry teams to develop new materials for high-power chip cooling, provide guidance of discrete material properties, and identify key performance-critical factors.

    + Conduct simulations, thermal-mechanical analysis, CFD modeling, and statistical Design of Experiments to optimize system performance.

    + Work closely with external partners to ensure product features and thermal performance objectives are successfully achieved.

    + Partner with cross-functional teams to drive novel chip thermal management technologies, ensure high scientific rigor, and deliver solutions with industry-leading performance.

    + Provide identification and creation of new techniques to advance thermal/mechanical development and validation.

     
     

    Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

    Qualifications

    YOU MUST HAVE

    + 10+ years’ experience in electronics thermal engineering,

    + 5+ years of experience in the electronics industry specifically related to high-power liquid cooling.

    + Expertise in liquid cooling strategies, including design of fluid loop control, cold plates, manifolds, immersion tanks, etc.

    + Hands-on expertise in programming, instrumentation, and data analysis (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW).

    + Proficiency in thermal-mechanical analysis, thermodynamic property calculations, and CFD simulations.

    + Expertise in thermal fluid dynamics, heat transfer, system-level thermal design.

    + Working knowledge and design ability for data center liquid cooling technologies.

    + Experience in liquid cooling deployments, custom cold plate design, or immersion-cooled infrastructure.

    + Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer principles.

    + Provide identification and creation of new techniques to advance thermal/mechanical development and validation.

    WE VALUE

    + Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is preferred.

    + Background in heterogeneous integration, advanced material development, and testing is a plus.

    + Skilled mentor with ability to lead other scientist/engineers

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail and follow up with minimal supervision

    The annual base salary range for this position is $136,000 - $169,000. This position is incentive eligible. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
