As a **Chemist II** here at Solstice Advanced Materials, you will draw upon your extensive knowledge of chemistry fundamentals to help Solstice deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Support the QC Department with its analytical instrument needs. Provide maintenance and calibration programs for the QC analytical instrumentation. Develop and validate QC test methods. Support the QC Department with its analytical instrument needs. Support the implementation of PFAS testing for existing solvents. You will report directly to our Sr Quality Control Supervisor, and you’ll work out of our **Muskegon, MI** location.
+ Develop and validate QC test methods
+ Support the QC Department with its analytical instrument needs
+ QC analytical instrumentation includes GC, HPLC, GCMS, LCMS, ICPMS, UV and fluorescence spectrophotometers and auto-titrator
+ Provide maintenance and calibration programs for the QC analytical instrumentation.
+ Possess good problem-solving skills
+ Support the implementation of PFAS testing for existing solvents
+ Train QC Department personnel in new and updated analytical methods
+ Maintain laboratory electronic quality records and QC database systems, including LIMS
+ Maintain safe housekeeping
+ Ensure that all waste generated in respective areas is managed according to regulations
+ Follow SOPs for using RCRA hazardous waste accumulation areas including waste compatibilities, inventorying, and container management (closing container & labeling)
+ Complete waste accumulation area inspections
+ Oversee HSE compliance within the QC department
+ Perform routine tests accurately and efficiently
+ Review and analyze data to determine if results indicate error in instrumentation, sample or method
+ Work with a minimum of supervision
+ Work with LIMS & commonly used data acquisition software

Qualifications
MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field
+ Experience in method development for analytical instrumentation
+ Experience in maintenance and repair of analytical instrumentation
+ Effective verbal and communication skills
+ A good disposition while working with department and plant personnel
+ Strong knowledge of chemistry principles and practices
+ Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation
+ Familiarity with safety protocols in a laboratory setting
WE VALUE
+ 5+ years of experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment using analytical instrumentation for testing
+ Ability to work under minimal supervision
+ Experience with analytical instrumentation including GC, HPLC, GCMS, LCMS, ICPMS, UV and fluorescence spectrophotometers and auto-titrator
+ Proficiency in application software, such as Word, Excel and Access
+ Leadership or coaching experience to direct and/or indirect reports
+ An understanding of ISO9001 quality management requirements

COMPENSATION
The annual base salary range for this position is $82K-$124K. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
