Job Title: Senior Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
+ Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, accrual calculations, and prepare related accounting documents and schedules.
+ Analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end close and resolve any outstanding accounting issues promptly.
+ Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, analysis, and accrual calculations.
+ Understand and analyze intercompany transactions.
+ Prepare bank reconciliations and various sales and KPI reports.
+ Maintain fixed assets and perform depreciation calculations and analyses.
+ Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
+ Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met.
+ Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
+ Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with QuickBooks.
+ 3 +years of experience in a staff or senior accountant role.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
+ Attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Excellent planning, organizing, strategic, and tactical thinking skills.
+ Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
+ Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles.
+ Familiarity with auditing practices and principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of Lease Accounting ASC 842 is a plus.
+ Experience with acquisition accounting is strongly preferred.
+ Experience and knowledge of mergers and acquisitions are advantageous.
+ Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
+ Flexibility to adjust project priorities as needs arise.
+ A collaborative and feedback-driven approach, with a focus on coaching and development.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $40.87/hr.
