Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer -Level 4/Level 5 to join the Systems Engineering team for Advanced Weapon Systems in our Chandler, AZ office.
The Systems Engineer will be assigned a cognizant engineer role for a vehicle subsystem, components, interfaces, and requirements that drive the architecture design.
Essential Functions:
+ Provide tactical and technical oversight into that area developing the program requirements, support the architecture products, and oversee verification planning, ensuring all engineering disciples are collaboratively involved
+ Work collaboratively with the program IPT structure resolving issues as they arise both tactfully and in a productive manner
+ Work in an IPT structure supporting multiple groups
+ Utilize strong technical problem solving, written, and verbal communication skills to generate and document system level launch vehicle requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments, and participate in system level verification/data review activities
+ Manage requirement changes in the Requirements Management databases working effectively with IPT leaders and team members
+ Drive tasks to completion autonomously and possess demonstrated mentoring/training skills
+ Create and manage both original and revised specification/interface definition documents, and coordinate document approval through peer review and signature process
+ Support risk management (identifies potential risk) and trade study processes
+ Manage aspects of system design, analyses, interface verification, testing, minor failure/anomaly resolution or mission operations
+ Participate in the creation of and manages changes to system or subsystem analytical models
+ Facilitate the development and execution of technical reviews for the program
Engineer Systems – Level 4 Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of related engineering experience
+ U.S. Citizenship is required
+ Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
+ Ability to travel
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Knowledgeable about agile principles and have demonstrated the ability to facilitate an agile development process
+ Strong technical skills and demonstrated performance in developing solutions that consider cost, schedule, and technical risk as elements of the problem solution
Engineer Systems – Level 5 Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 10 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 8 years of related engineering experience
+ U.S. Citizenship is required
+ Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
+ Ability to travel
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Knowledgeable about agile principles and have demonstrated the ability to facilitate an agile development process
+ Strong technical skills and demonstrated performance in developing solutions that consider cost, schedule, and technical risk as elements of the problem solution
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated experience creating Systems Engineering products
+ Electrical or Aerospace Engineering Degree
+ Experience working fast paced development programs
+ Experience with System integration and verification
+ Experience with taking missile systems or launch vehicles from system testing through launch activities
Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
