The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University is seeking an individual to teach ADV 523.1 Digital Branding & Strategy on Wednesdays 9:30am-12:15pm during the Spring 2026 semester. (3 credits)
Course Description: Digital Branding and Strategy examines the transformative role that digital media (websites, social networks, blogs, mobile) have on the advertising industry and consumer behavior. How consumers are reached and interpret the message from these digital platforms.
The digital media landscape is changing by the minute. The evolving dynamics are led by consumers, advertisers, technology companies and government. Students will learn the factors contributing to change and develop an understanding of the responsibility marketers hold in shaping the industry as it continues to evolve. Equally as important, students will examine the major forms of digital communication (e.g., websites, social networks, search, online video, mobile), how they work, and how to think about using them strategically for advertising.
