    The*Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)*is recruiting a*People Operations Bureau Chief*. The position is responsible for the strategic design, development, and integration of programs within the People Operations Bureau including Human Resources, Payroll, Occupational Safety, and the Workforce Planning sections. In partnership with State Human Resources (State HR) and other state department Human Resource Bureau Chiefs and Managers, the position develops and administers Bureau policies, standards, and program functions to ensure consistency with State and Federal regulations, Human Resources standards, and State requirements. The People Operations Bureau Chief reports to the General Operations Program Manager and State HR and directly or indirectly manages a staff of approximately 35 employees. This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules.
