About the role
We are looking for a hands-on, detailed-oriented Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs), vendors, and suppliers to develop and execute test plans, design, and maintain test equipment, troubleshoot manufacturing test issues. Your work will directly impact on product quality and production efficiency.
In this role, you will:
•Collaborate with internal teams and contract manufacturers (CMs) to develop and refine manufacturing test procedures.
•Onboard new contract manufacturers (CMs) using proven manufacturing processes.
•Drive continuous improvement across test processes and documentation.
•Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for manufacturing testing.
•Support internal operations and repair teams by performing root cause analysis and escalating issues to hardware/software engineering teams.
Location:
Based on the business requirements you will be working onsite at a client office in Mountain View, CA.
What you must have to be considered:
•Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or software engineering
•4+ years of experience working with CMs in manufacturing testing and test software development.
•Ability to read electrical schematics, CAD drawings.
•Experience debugging circuits with embedded software and analyzing logs.
•Experience with test automation, test equipment such as oscilloscope, Digital Multimeters (DMM).
•Effective communication and documentation skills.
This will help you stand out:
•Experience with Linux and Chrome OS
•Ability to write test scripts in Bash and Python
•Soldering skills (through-hole and SMT)
•Experience using hand tools (sockets, wrenches, torque wrenches) for mechanical assembly and prototyping.

Salary and other Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is between $80,000.00 - $134,500.00, depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s appliable plans.
