The Talent Acquisition Specialist manages key aspects of the recruitment and onboarding lifecycle, including talent sourcing, candidate engagement, screening and assessment, interview management, selection, pre-employment checks, and onboarding activities. This role will assist the talent acquisition team with recruiting for a variety of positions throughout the organization, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for hiring managers, candidates, and new hires through timely, professional and proactive service.
Major Responsibilities:
• Execute full-cycle end to end recruitment for assigned roles, including administrative, entry-level, hourly and/or union positions.
• Provide talent acquisition support in all aspects of the talent acquisition strategy to team as assigned.
• Lead and support all aspects of the onboarding process, including offers, pre-employment background checks, new hire documentation and compliance, orientation, and onboarding planning.
• Oversee campus, vocational and trade school recruiting initiatives, including career fairs, information sessions, and other hiring events; build and maintain relationships with universities, technical schools, career centers, student organizations, and external partners to support talent pipelines.
• Manage the internship program with recruiting, onboarding, engagement activities, and feedback collection.
• Manage job postings across internal and external platforms and social media initiatives in alignment with NJR’s branding.
• Track and analyze recruiting metrics for current and future talent strategy; prepare recruitment reports and dashboards for Talent Acquisition team, highlighting trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Support compliance and audit-related tasks in accordance with HR policy.
• Maintain and update Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other recruiting systems, ensuring data accuracy and compliance. Support system upgrades and the implementation of new tools by performing testing and validation.
• Partner with Diversity Inclusion and Belonging on recruiting and workforce development initiatives.
• Assist in other HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
• 1-3 years experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition or related field, with direct involvement in recruiting activities such as sourcing, screening, interviewing or onboarding.
• Experience with ATS platforms and recruitment tools.
• Proven ability to manage multiple job requisitions and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Co-Pilot, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for engaging with candidates and stakeholders.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and interacting with all levels of the organization.
• A continuous improvement mindset—sees challenges as opportunities to enhance processes and outcomes.
• Ability to pivot quickly in response to shifting business needs or recruitment demands.
• Travel to career events, seminars and/or conferences 20%

Other Details:
Job Location Type is Hybrid.
Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $66,300- $84,500.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
