    Educational Sign Language Interpreter | Killeen, TX | $40/hr | Elementary Deaf Ed | Nov 10 Start

    Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a full-time Educational Sign Language Interpreter to support an elementary Deaf Education classroom in Killeen, TX for the 2025–2026 school year. This in-person role begins November 10, 2025 and runs through May 28, 2026.

    Position Details

    + Location: Killeen, TX

    + Start Date: November 10, 2025

    + End Date: May 28, 2026

    + Schedule: Monday–Friday

    + Hours: 37.5/week (7:30am–3:15pm)

    + Modality: In-person only

    + Setting: Elementary Deaf Ed classroom

    + Support: Classroom teacher and possible paraprofessional

    + Pay Rate: $40/hr

    + Campus: TBD

    Responsibilities

    + Provide expressive and voice interpreting services using ASL

    + Interpret classroom instruction, school events, and meetings

    + Support student understanding of assignments and promote independence

    + Teach sign language classes and offer individual instruction as directed

    + Collaborate with staff and serve as a resource for substitute teachers

    + Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with Section 504 and ADA

    + Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district and Amergis policies

    Requirements

    + High school diploma or GED

    + Level One BEI or National Interpreter Certification

    + EIPA or RID certification (as required by state/client)

    + ASL fluency and understanding of Deaf culture

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    + CPR, TB screening, and health certificate (if applicable)

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

    + Minimum age: 18
