    Overview

     

    This position is responsible for supporting the development of new customer products and services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. This may include developing recommendations, writing business cases, performing rate and cost analysis, development of revised tariff offerings, researching regulatory policy and practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, modeling, and evaluating new tariff offerings and coordinating across company departments as necessary to get internal support and approval for their implementation. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring that all information and operational processes are in accordance with Company rules, regulations, policies, and goals, aligned with corporate strategy and direction while maintaining/enhancing positive client/company relationships. This position will provide information to support the areas such as Distribution Operations, Customer Services and Generation Planning.

    Responsibilities

    + Researches, develops, and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements to existing products or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans, and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. This includes the evaluation of existing programs and offerings

    + Develops recommendations and business cases for new and innovative products and services, applying appropriate analytic tools, in collaboration with other areas across the company.

    + Develops operational processes for new customer products.

    + Seeks opportunities to collaborate with community or state organizations and peer utilities on best practices. Conducts market research, attends webinars and conferences to stay abreast of emerging technologies and/or energy efficiency programs, and offerings to ensure a high customer experience and value to the company.

    + Maintains expertise in products and services offered in the utility industry including their application and costs to provide advice, consultation, and education to the company and customers.

    + Computes and prepares for filing new tariffs.

    + Maintains cost models and prepares pricing for products funded via an individual mechanism.

    + Computes and prepares the filing for the Demand-Side Management (DSM) Cost Recovery Mechanism for each applicable rate class. Input calculations include: 1) DSM Cost Recovery, 2) DSM Revenue from lost sales, 3) DSM Incentive, 4) DSM Balance Adjustment, and 5) DSM Capital cost recovery.

    + Develops and manages budgets for each implemented program and associated department reporting.

    + Coordinates the involvement of Company’s personnel, including support, service, and management of personnel to meet customer and company expectations.

    + Captures, maintains, and communicates with Generation Planning, Research & Analysis, Rates and Regulatory, Distribution Operations, and other internal stakeholder's detailed information about business plans and projects.

    + Works with Corporate Communications and other departments to provide information and promote innovative products and services for customers as well as educate customers on value added offerings for improved customer experience.

    + Develops and maintains database and spreadsheet models used to evaluate the effectiveness of each program as filed with the KYPSC. This includes computing and monitoring the following: 1) Total Resource Cost (TRC), 2) Participant Cost Test (PCT), 3) Ratepayer Impact Measurement (RIM), 4) Program Administrator Cost (PAC), 5) Projected vs. Actual Annual and Cumulative Energy, Demand and Gas Impacts, 6) Avoided Cost of Generation, and 7) Filed versus Actual Budget Expenditures.Prepares data responses, compliance filings, and testimony for regulatory proceedings.

    + Continually evaluate procedures to determine more efficient methods of performing duties and responsibilities which ensuring regulatory commitments and compliance objectives are met.

    + Presents at conferences, when requested.

    + Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Required Education

    Bachelor's Degree in economics, math, finance, engineering, business or related field

    Required Experience

    + Possess the ability to analyze complex information, isolate key issues, and demonstrate logical thought and decision making. Must have Analytical, leadership, communication, and persuasion skills.

    + Must possess oral and written skills used to develop presentations and interface with personnel in other departments, outside customers, and industry groups to exchange information.

    + Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

    + Must possess a basic understanding of regulatory/legislative initiatives that impact the electric industry, electric utility regulation (Federal and State), and the reliability policies and processes.

    + Ability to work under pressure, ambiguity, and overcome obstacles in a dynamic work environment.

    Required Education

    Remote Work
