    Salary: $2146 / Week

     

    Position Title: Special Education Teacher – K–2nd Grade (Self-Contained Classroom)

     

    Start Date: October 31, 2025

    End Date: May 29, 2026

    Work Hours: 37.5–40 hours/week

     

    Caseload: 16 students with support from 1 teaching assistant

     

    Technology Platform: EdPlan

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom for students in grades K–2. This role is ideal for educators committed to inclusive practices and collaborative planning. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the teacher will deliver individualized instruction, provide tutorial support, and consult with general education staff to ensure student success.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

    + Valid Maryland teaching certificate (required)

    + Minimum one year of classroom experience (preferred)

    + Preferred Certifications:

    + Standard Elementary Teaching

    + Standard Secondary Teaching

    + Standard Special Teaching

    + Preferred Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)

    + Must comply with all professional standards and state/federal regulations
