Salary: $2250 / Week
Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate) – $60/hour (Local)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 37.5 hours/week
Contract Length: 2025–2026 School Year
Start Date: ASAP
Amergis is hiring experienced Special Education Teachers to support TK–8th grade students across the SMBSD district. This is a full-time, in-person role with flexible classroom settings and caseloads to be discussed during the interview.
Responsibilities:
+ Provide specialized instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities
+ Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with school teams
+ Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
+ Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Minimum Requirements:
+ Valid California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential (CA M/M)
+ School-based experience required
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
+ Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
Compensation:
+ Local Pay Rate: $60/hour
+ Travel Weekly Pay: $2,829 gross/week
Classroom Setting & Caseload:
Assignments and caseloads will be discussed during the interview. Positions include a variety of roles across elementary and middle school levels.
Role Breakdown:
+ 1 bilingual teaching position
+ 3 float positions (assigned as needed across sites)
+ 1 junior high role focused on Social Studies and Science
